The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) archive contains a large film collection. In 2018, The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation funded the digitisation of the 16mm film reels held in the archive, revealing beautifully-produced films that depict many aspects of life at the hospital. Often shot with a candid and playful approach, or sometimes using orchestrated scenes to tell a story, these films were used to promote fundraising appeals and to document the hospital’s daily workings.
This page contains a large selection of the total number films held by RCH – some films available here have been edited to enable access. A master list of all films is currently being researched and will shortly be made available, with instructions on how to request access to the collection.
